ASSISTANT ESTIMATOR

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in project estimation including quantity takeoffs, data entry, receiving quotes on products/services and cost analysis.
Assist in updating the company database by review of quotes received on products/services and contractor schedule of values.
Assist in communicating effectively with the Owner and the A/E team, presenting budgets/estimates, and preparing budget cost comparisons.
Assist in developing bids and procurement of subcontractors for construction projects.
Quantity takeoff using On-Screen Takeoff (OST) and Vertigraph Siteworx/OS.
Prepare project estimates using Sage Estimating.
Prepare project cost summaries using Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam Revu.
Cost load a project schedule using Primavera P6.
Assist Project Managers in review of change orders or changes to projects.
Work closely with Architects and Engineers.

COMPETENCIES:

Basic knowledge of construction principals, techniques, and procedures.
Skilled in the use of computer software including Microsoft Office.
Experience with On-Screen Takeoff is preferred.
Ability to effectively present information in oral, written and graphic form.
Demonstrated skills in organizing and evaluating information and in proactively finding solutions for construction projects.
Ability to read architectural plans and specifications.
Strong math skills, close attention to details.
Experience in managing multiple activities and tasks.
Estimating experience preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

4-yr college degree preferred but not required. Desirable study concentration in construction management, Architecture or Engineering.

SALARY: $40,000 - $125,000
