On February 15th, 2022, the Eastchester Union Free School District community voted yes on a 5 year capital bond project to address the needs of aging buildings in addition to the health and security of students, faculty and staff.

The capital bond project includes:

Infrastructure

​

• Conversion of steam boilers to more energy-efficient hot water heat

• Electric service upgrades to take advantage of efficiency advances

• Expanded fire alarm systems

• Asbestos abatement

• New ceilings and flooring

Safety & Security

​

• Secure entrance vestibules with space for a security officer

• Interior & Exterior doors replacement which will be equipped with intruder lock-sets

• Exterior lighting & security devices

Health & Wellness

​

• Replacement of water supply & piping

• Improved energy-efficient lighting

Accessibility

​

• Bathrooms

• Interior & exterior stairs, ramps and parking spaces

Site Improvements

​

• Storm water management

• Repaving in some areas

• Improvements to the High School baseball & softball fields

• Addition of visitor bleachers at the existing turf field

District Wide Air Cooling

​

• Installation of air-cooling systems across all school buildings in the district

​

The timeline for construction is the Summer of 2022 and scheduled to be completed the Fall of 2027.
